Today, we observe International Noise Awareness Day.
At IMS, we strive to create a quieter and more pleasant environment. This is not just part of our work – it’s part of our mission.
Below, we highlight several key projects and initiatives from the past year that reflect our commitment to improving conditions for life and work.
We are actively involved in Project INKA, which aims to improve the quality of life in urban environments.
In cooperation with Aerosol Magee Scientific and PNZ d.o.o., we installed advanced equipment to measure sound and black carbon concentrations. Sensors placed in strategic locations collect data on the impact of traffic, heating, and industry on the environment. This data will serve as the basis for strategies to reduce negative effects and promote healthy, sustainable living.
In Jezersko, we participated in a project aimed at improving road safety and the quality of life for local residents.
In collaboration with Asist System Automation, we calibrated systems that measure motorcycle speed and noise. Due to the challenging terrain and increased summer traffic, these systems play a crucial role in encouraging safer and quieter driving.
We are actively participating in an initiative to improve noise regulation in residential environments.
At the initiative of the Slovenian Acoustics Society, we joined a project to collect data on noise from heat pumps, aiming to gain a clearer understanding of the current situation and support more effective regulation.
Through workplace noise education,
… we help companies understand the effects of long-term exposure and introduce them to the correct use of modern measuring equipment and procedures. This supports the creation of safer, more health-friendly working environments.
By supporting young researchers in acoustics and vibration,
… we encourage the development of new knowledge and practical solutions for sustainable construction and safe work environments.
Our Noise Guard system
… enables continuous noise monitoring in urban and industrial areas, where early detection is key to timely intervention and long-term planning. The system is continuously developed and adapted to various environmental requirements.
We regularly attend professional conferences, seminars, and training sessions
… where we exchange knowledge, follow legal developments, and share best practices in noise and vibration measurement.
