Prolonged exposure to excessive noise can significantly impact our health—leading to stress, sleep disturbances, concentration issues, and even serious long-term health complications. Yet, noise pollution often remains on the sidelines of public discussions and regulatory initiatives.
In many countries, including Slovenia, clear guidelines and regulations regarding environmental noise in residential areas are still lacking. Current legislation does not set noise limits for individuals, which often leads to disputes and unresolved conflicts between residents.
As experts in noise and vibration measurement, we frequently encounter real-life challenges faced by individuals. One of the pressing topics today is heat pumps—an energy-efficient solution that, in some cases, can become a source of disruptive noise. As part of the Slovenian Acoustical Society, we are actively working on gathering data and insights to better understand these issues and contribute to meaningful improvements.
Our mission is to create a better future through data-driven insights and professional solutions. By collecting and analyzing noise-related data in residential environments, we aim to help shape better practices and standards that will improve the quality of life for everyone.
